ABOUT.
Studio & Philosophy
Based within the five-star Kings Ship Tattoo in Southsea, I offer a professional, education-led piercing experience focused on quality, safety, and client care.
Everything I do is grounded in ongoing education and high industry standards, ensuring that both my materials and processes are of the highest quality. Above all else, my clients’ wellbeing, comfort, and safety always come first.
Specialising In
After many years within the piercing industry, you naturally begin to gravitate towards the areas you love most and continue refining your skills within those specialities.
For me, that became ear piercings and jewellery styling.
I absolutely love creating curated ears and helping clients build unique, balanced jewellery combinations that suit their anatomy and personal style. Over time, this has become my main area of focus, leading me to specialise almost exclusively in ear piercings and curated ear styling.
My passion for jewellery also led me to launch my own jewellery store, offering high-quality yet affordable piercing jewellery that clients can purchase with confidence.
How I Work
I work strictly by appointment only and unfortunately cannot accommodate walk-in appointments.
While spontaneity can be fun, booking an appointment allows clients to get the very best from my experience, time, and expertise. It also ensures that every appointment is carried out in a calm, professional environment without being rushed.
I currently offer:
Ear piercings
Nostril piercings
Nipple piercings
All services carry specific age restrictions, and I will never perform piercings on anyone under the age of 18 without a parent or guardian present.
I believe it’s important that clients fully understand both the services I offer and the way I work before booking. For example, if you arrive expecting a belly button piercing, you may leave disappointed — which is exactly why I encourage everyone to book in advance so we can make sure we’re the right fit for each other.
Booking Appointments
My diary is powered by Fresha, an easy-to-use online booking system that allows clients to choose their desired service and instantly select a date and time that works around their schedule.
This system keeps booking simple, convenient, and stress-free for everyone.
I have built my business on word of mouth. Take a look at real customers testimonials.
My Journey
I’ve worked within the industry since 2015, managing Kings Ship Tattoo alongside my husband and helping to build a welcoming, professional studio environment for our clients.
Before entering the tattoo and piercing industry, I worked in a variety of roles — all of which centred around customer service, responsibility, and management. Those experiences shaped the way I work today and gave me a strong foundation for running a client-focused business.
Piercings have always been a huge passion of mine. From my very first job, I spent most of my wages on new piercings and jewellery. I was completely obsessed — always planning the next one until I eventually started running out of space!
In 2018, I decided to turn that passion into a career. I trained with the London Piercing and Tattoo Academy under Sabrina, an incredibly experienced professional whose background in the medical field brought a unique level of knowledge and care to the course.
I strongly believe that if you want to be the best, you learn from the best. I would never buy a kit online and assume that’s enough to become a body piercer. Everything I do is rooted in education, safety, and continual learning.
In an industry that isn’t always heavily regulated, I believe it’s important to stay humble, keep learning, and strive for excellence — never cutting corners or putting profit before people. My goal has always been to create the kind of safe, professional, and positive piercing experience that simply didn’t exist when I first started getting pierced over twenty years ago.
Shortly after qualifying in body piercing, I travelled to Sheffield to complete specialist laser tattoo removal training with Marshalls, one of the UK’s leading laser manufacturers. The training gave me an in-depth understanding of laser technology, treatments, and — most importantly — client safety.
Again, I believe proper hands-on education is essential. An online induction alone is never enough when working with procedures that affect people’s bodies and wellbeing.
Like many businesses, we faced challenges during the Covid pandemic, but we stayed strong, adapted, and came back even better. I was determined to keep pushing forward and growing the business.
In 2022, I introduced Piercing Parties to Portsmouth, creating a completely new group experience inspired by years of working tattoo conventions and events. I wanted to make piercings feel exciting, memorable, and social while still maintaining professionalism and safety.
In 2023, I launched my own curated jewellery brand, Disco Ball x Genevieve. After years of piercing, I saw how difficult clients found it to source high-quality jewellery online with confidence, so I created a carefully selected collection of my personal best-sellers that clients could shop easily and trust.
During the summer of 2024, I completed advanced training in brow enhancements alongside my friend Jade — an incredibly inspiring woman with a work ethic very similar to my own. I’m passionate about continuing to expand my skills, learn from others, and bring exciting new services to my clients.
In 2025, I launched Chains & Trinkets — The Charm Bar — adding another creative and personalised experience to the business.
For me, this industry has never just been about trends. It’s about education, creativity, connection, and giving every client the best possible experience from start to finish.
